Hi, my name's Andre' Mosley and I've recently moved to Washington, DC from Indianapolis, IN. I've traveled through most of the Americas and have even traveled overseas. I was originally born and raised in Tokyo, Japan with some time spent on the island of Okinawa. My family is full of military veterans, and I myself am also a military veteran. Having only served four years total as a Supply Technician, I received an Honorable Discharge in 2004. Upon returning to the "real world" I began my journey into the accounting field. I worked several years for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service which people call DFAS for short. It was a great experience for me and it gave me an opportunity to further my education through their tuition assistance program. Although I did not finish my degree I did obtain a vast amount of knowledge and skills in the Business Management field. My skills include: Excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Photo Shop, and Social media

  • Accounting Technician at DFAS

    Review, prepare, and accurately process travel payments using various policies, regulations, and automatic financial systems for proper reimbursement. Assist travelers on the telephone in a fast-paced customer service environment receiving inbound calls of 80-100 in the processing center. Answer questions or concerns on their travel reimbursement. Provide information to internal and external travelers on travel policies and procedures. On a daily basis, assist travelers and also team members on clarifying the soldiers' orders. Ensure the correct element of expense is documented on paperwork which ensures the charging for the proper fund site for payment. Audit vouchers for travelers on DTS, a travel pay system, to identify discrepancies in the accounting data and determine the source of error for correction in Windows Integrated Automated Travel System for any debts or advances. Review contracts, purchase requests, delivery orders, mortgage loans, and lease agreements for apartments, and other expenses by the service member. Examine and reconcile government bank card transactions. Review travel vouchers for accuracy and adequacy of citations within the document for compliance with the Department of Defense Service Components regulations.

    Manage, administer and operate computerized supply systems to provide the necessary equipment and supplies for Air Force operations. Ship high volume of orders daily ensuring all policy and procedures are followed and accurate records are kept. Achieved 100% inventory control for materials valued up to $60 million. Resolve a variety of wide range challenges that arise which include but not limited to: missing merchandise, delivery cancellations, damaged merchandise, and incomplete deliveries. Prepare shipping documents for parts scheduled to ship. Communicate any shipping and packing issues that arise with co-workers and management. Generate various inventory related reports to update management on inventory status and labor production. Honorably discharged from the military with a Secret Security clearance.
